Structural Drawings
Structural drawings come in several varieties. TMG continues to create the following types:
- Raft slab layouts
- Waffle slab layouts
- Bracing layouts
- Lintel layouts
- Articulation Joint layouts
Raft Slab Layouts

What you do
- Sketch the desired position of beams and slabs on a print of your architectural plan
- Mention the set down areas.
- Email us a scan of this sketch along with your AutoCAD architectural plan
What we do
- Draft the outline and centre line using the architectural plan.
- Use your sketch as a guideline and position the beams and slabs optimally below walls and pillars in the AutoCAD architectural plan
- Add detail notes
- Add your template and fill in project name
- Indicate the set down areas by hatch patterns
- Insert the required crack bars
- Email the enhanced AutoCAD file back to you
Waffle Slab Layouts

What you do
- Email us your AutoCAD architectural plan with a standard waffle slab template
- Email us a covering message saying:
- where the set-down areas are (usually porches, alfresco areas)
- where the strip footings are
- where the pad foundations and ribs are
What we do
- Draft the outline, rebate line and waffle line using the architectural plan.
- Start the waffle slab from suitable corner and draw the waffle slab with set-down areas, pad foundations, strip footings and ribs
- Add crack bars wherever necessary
- Add detail notes
- Add your template and fill in project name
- Email the enhanced AutoCAD file back to you
Bracing Layouts

What you do
- Email us:
- a covering note mentioning the density of bracing (for example, N1, N2 or N3 for Australian designs)
- a bracing layout (DWG file) of a similar architectural plan for us to use as reference)
- plywood bracing details for metal strap bracing
- any required notes.
What we do
- Insert bracing lines at the appropriate places
- Attach all required details
Lintel Layouts

What you do
- Email us:
- the structural member schedule and stud detail
- architectural elevations for all four sides, mentioning whether brick work or FC sheets are used above the openings, windows and doors
- an example lintel layout for a similar type of architectural plan including stud detail and member schedule
What we do
- Draw lintels referring to the example you provided
- Copy and insert the member schedule
- Draw girders using the example for reference
- Identify internal load bearing walls as denoted in example
Articulation Joint Layouts

What we do
- Insert articulation joint symbols required for the building making sure the distance between two articulation joints is less than 6000 mm.
